General application conditions for students

  • Active student status in the institution in a bachelor's, master's or doctoral program during the scholarship period (this is not a condition for submitting an application).
  • At least 2 completed semesters at the time of departure (including previous bachelor's and master's programs). A bachelor's (BA) graduate cannot apply for the next academic year, BUT if he/she will be a master's (MA) program from September, he/she can apply for the second semester.
  • Correspondence students can also apply, if they meet the application conditions, but:
    • full-time students have priority in the assessment
    • the motivation letter must explain how they will be able to solve the stay abroad for the duration of the scholarship.
  • Citizenship of a CEEPUS country.
  • Citizens of non-CEEPUS countries can apply by uploading an 'Equal Status' document (e.g. proof of student status in English at the sending institution).
  • Applicants can not travel to a country that is the same as their citizenship or place of habitual residence.
  • Applicants can not receive any other scholarship during the scholarship period (exclusion of double funding). CEEPUS scholarship holders may not simultaneously receive any other publicly funded support (Erasmus+, Erasmus Mundus, International Visegrad Fund, Stipendium Hungaricum). An exception to this is the support for short-term (ST or STE) mobility of scholarship holders participating in the Stipendium Hungaricum and Diaspora Scholarship Programmes for a maximum of 30 days in another CEEPUS country.
  • Participation in the CEEPUS Program requires the support of the Pázmány network coordinator / partner coordinator of the given network; in the case of freemover mobility, an application can be submitted with a Letter of Recommendation signed by at least two different teachers and a Letter of Acceptance from the host institution.
  • PhD students who are also employed as lecturers can decide on the online application platform whether to apply as a student or teacher, but the planned activities presented in the application must be in line with the status.
  • Any other conditions imposed by the sending and receiving institutions.
  • The entire scholarship period for students may not exceed 10 months per training cycle.
  • The mobility may be extended to one academic year, but the scholarship period may not be interrupted in this case either. The end date of the original application continues directly with the start date of the new application (to extend the scholarship period, a new application can be uploaded, which is not subject to the regular deadline. The exact number of the previous application (six-digit unique identifier) ​​as well as the fact and justification of the extension must be indicated in the Motivation section of the application.)
  • At least intermediate (B2) English language skills, as the language of the CEEPUS Programme and the application itself is in English.

Types of mobility

1. Part-time studies (semester study) – Student Mobility (S)

  • Duration: 3 -5 months
  • Minimum stay abroad: full months, the last month spent abroad is at least 16 days.
  • Activity: attending, completing courses and earning credits during the stay abroad is mandatory.
  • The planned activities must be explained in the Motivation section of the application: Why do you want to spend a semester at the partner institution, what courses do you plan to attend? What are your personal motivations and goals? How will the experience gained abroad help your studies here?
  • Applications can be submitted within a Network or as a Freemover.
  • Student mobility can be supplemented by:
    • laboratory work
    • professional internship

2. Short Term Student Mobility (ST)

  • Duration: 1-2 months.
  • Minimum stay abroad: minimum 21 days for 1 month, 1 full month and 16 days for 2 months. In the case of a summer university or intensive course, the minimum stay abroad is 6 days.
  • Activity: preparation of a diploma thesis or dissertation, related laboratory work, or participation in a summer university or intensive course. The planned activities must be explained in the Motivation section of the application:
    • In the case of a diploma thesis or dissertation: What topic will you write your thesis on? What kind of help will you use during your stay abroad (consultation, use of local library, museums, archives? How will staying abroad help you progress in your thesis?
    • In case of applying for a special course/summer university: Title, program, topic of the course. Date of the course. Why would you like to participate? How will participation contribute to your professional development?
  • Application can be submitted within the network or as a Freemover.

3. Group student  excursion - Short Term Excursion (STE)

  • Duration: minimum 3-5 days
  • Activity: participation in a student excursion organized by the partner institution. Application can only be submitted within the network.
  • Planned activities: The application must be explained in the Motivation section: Why do you want to participate? How will you contribute to the professional development of the trip?

 


Submitting the application

The application must always be submitted in English via the central online application system (www.ceepus.info).

IMPORTANT! In the case of an application within a Network, your application must first be submitted directly to the Faculty International Office. The Faculty Foreign Affairs Committee will make a decision on the assessment of the application. Details, application conditions and places available for application can be found in the Calls for applications menu. If the application is positively evaluated, it is necessary to register on the central CEEPUS website, where the application form must be filled out in English.

In the case of freemover mobility, the sending institution does not issue a separate call for applications, the application must be submitted directly via the central online application interface (www.ceepus.info) in English. However, if you have any questions, you can also contact the faculty or institutional CEEPUS coordinator using the contact details provided on the website.


Application process

  • In case of network mobility, the PPKE coordinator accepts and nominates the application to the Hungarian National Office. In case of freemover mobility, the application is directly sent to the Hungarian National Office.
  • If the Hungarian National Office accepts the application, it nominates it to the Host country. In case of network mobility, the Host institution and the Host National Office evaluate the application, and in case of freemover mobility, only the Host National Office evaluates the application.
  • After the application is accepted by all parties, it will be given the status 'Awarded', about which the system will send a notification. The applicant can accept the scholarship online by pressing the "Accept" button. This step must be done, as only after this can the scholarship be paid. The applicant will receive the scholarship from the Host institution.
  • The Host National Office issues a Letter of Award document certifying the scholarship status and sends it to the applicant and the Host institution.
  • ATTENTION! Cancellations and changes to dates are only allowed in justified cases. The CEEPUS coordinators of the sending and receiving institutions must be informed of any changes affecting the scholarship as soon as possible.

Scholarship amount

The awarded participants receive the CEEPUS grant from the Host Institution.
