Electronic devices verification process
When will it be?
At a pre-announced date and time.
What electronic devices can I bring in?
- small electronic kitchen appliances (e.g. handblender, kettle, etc.)
- consumer electronics (e.g. TV, Xbox, radio, etc.)
- educational equipment (e.g. laptop, tablet, etc.)
And what cannot be brought in:
- non-human powered transportation vehicle (e.g., electric scooter, motorcycle)
- large electronic appliances (e.g. refrigerator, washing machine)
- fire hazards (e.g. pizza oven, open sandwich oven).
How is it inspected?
A professional electrician will check if the appliance is an "accident and fire hazard".
Will the laptop and phone be checked?
No, only their charger. The interesting part is what you plug into the socket. However, extension cords and power distributors do not count, so anything plugged into an extension cord must be checked also.
How do you prepare?
- Fill in and print out two copies of the this form (or send it electronically to the Maintenance Manager Ferenc Jákli): jakli.ferenc.gabor@ppke.hu.
- In the common area of the apartment, everything must be cleared off the table and all electronic devices (and forms) to be checked must be placed there. (If you sent the form by mail, just write your name on the devices so that they can be identified.)
My devices were already inspected last year. What to do in this case?
Now they will also be re-examined, which means you have to put everything on the table.
Do you have to be there when they check in the devices?
You can, but you don't have to be in the room. According to the rules, two colleagues will go into the lobby and scan the devices on the table and leave the signed form there.
What happens if I have not yet brought something from home or if I will buy something later?
After the waiting list move-in, there may be another inspection of the same kind, and if you fail to bring the equipment in, you will have to bring it in person to Mikszáth Square for inspection. The Maintenance Manager will also be able to provide information on the details of this.
What if it's a little piece of nonsense that's not worth testing?
All electronic devices must be tested. If, during the next room inspection, the colleagues find a device that has not been tested, they must confiscate it in accordance with the Rules of Procedure.
