Greetings! My name is Abdelhamid Djeghoubbi. I am 22 years old, and I'm a first-year PhD student in applied linguistics at Pázmány University in Budapest. I'm originally from Touggourt, Algeria, a place that's shaped who I am, but I've found myself drawn to the vibrant heart of Central Europe.
As an international student, I've had to adjust to a whole new world, kind of like a species discovering a new habitat. Pázmány's commitment to rigorous academic inquiry and its stimulating environment drew me here. Beyond the classroom, I love exploring Budapest—its rich history, diverse neighborhoods, and endless opportunities for discovery. I'm also an avid chess player, which has become more than just a hobby; it's a community and a way for me to grow as a person. Looking back, I can say that this experience has broadened my horizons and helped me find a sense of belonging. If you're considering a similar journey, know that it won't be without its challenges, but the intellectual and personal rewards are truly worth it.
