Artur Sahakyan, a Computer Science Engineering MSc student at our Faculty of Information Technology and Bionics, recently achieved first place in the regional round of the prestigious International Quant Championship, a global competition in quantitative analysis and data science. In this interview, Artur discusses his path from Armenia to Hungary, his academic interests, his experience in the competition, and his vision for the future. His academic journey and international mindset reflect the strengths of Pázmány ITK’s English-taught, research-oriented master’s programmes, showing how strong academic foundations, international experience and curiosity can lead to outstanding achievements.
Imagine 21 students from 15 countries, all in one city, learning, exploring, and figuring out life in Budapest together. That’s the IPCV cohort who started their studies in September 2025. We spoke with students about their first semester at Pázmány ITK: from late-night coding sessions and library marathons to sunrises by the Parliament and unforgettable cohort moments. As they look ahead to their semester in Madrid, they share stories of friendship, growth, and the little moments that made Budapest feel like home.
It started as a university project and became an international breakthrough in robotics. Benedek Tasi, a former student of our Faculty, and his team developed a bio-inspired manufacturing technology that could fundamentally transform robotics. Allonic now works with the world's leading engineers, while its roots go back to the creative, experimental environment of Pázmány ITK.
An intensive course titled “Cinema, Literature, and Television in Contemporary Italian Culture” was successfully held at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of Pázmány Péter Catholic University between 23–28 February, within the framework of the CEEPUS FISH (French, Italian, Spanish – Romance Languages and Cultures) professional network that has included the Institute of Classical and Romance Languages of our university as an active member for several years. The six‑days program was organized by the Italian Department, under the direction of lecturer Michele Sitá.
