Hello Dear Friends! I am Yaren Varol from Turkey, 26 years old, a second-year PhD student in History. My cultural background includes living in Poland for the European Voluntary Service and since then I have been interested in exploring new countries. This interest and my academic success led me to win the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship. I am a Lead Mentor of the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship at the National Student Union in Hungary and I have been a mentor since 2022 and I enjoy every minute of it. I regularly organize events and meetings for my mentees. Helping students makes me happy. At first, I found it hard to learn and adapt to the new education system and life in Hungary, but with the great help of my classmates and my mentor, I overcame it and the following year I became a student mentor myself.

The reason why I chose to study at Pázmány is its wide range of educational opportunities and great prestige.

In my free time, I enjoy exploring the Hungarian language and culture, following events and conferences related to my field of interest and building my network in Hungary. I can suggest to all mentees a planning method to balance academia and exploration

Budapest is a city that combines nature and city life. As an international student, you can spend time in nature to de-stress and enjoy various cultural events.
