Last year, as newcomers, we were ranked in the 1501+ range. This year, the ranking bands has been refined, as a result, Pázmány was placed in the 1801–2000 band, where it ranks ahead of the University of Miskolc in the domestic rankings, placing it 12th on this year’s list of 13 Hungarian Universities. It is a significant achievement that we outperform the University of Miskolc in the “Quality of Research” and “International Orientation” indicators. Ahead of us are Széchenyi István University (1601–1800), which also entered the rankings last year, and Pannon University (1601–1800).
It is noteworthy that Pázmány improved in three of the five ranking indicators (Teaching, Research Environment, Research Quality, Industry Links, and International Outlook) and maintained its position in one.
In the Research Environment indicator, which measures the international recognition of research, revenue generated from research, and the publication output of our researchers, we achieved a score of 13.2 this year, compared to 11.7 in 2026. This means that our University provides our faculty with adequate financial resources and infrastructure to support their research.
In the Research Quality indicator, which measures the excellence of our research, its scientific impact, and the citation rates of our publications based on articles published in Scopus-indexed journals, we achieved a score of 31.2, compared to 27.1 in 2026.
In the Industry indicator, which measures our revenue from industry and our patents, we rose from a score of 23.2 in 2026 to 23.4 this year.
In the International Outlook category, which measures the number of our international faculty and students as well as our joint publications with international researchers, we maintained a score of 36.3.
The two greatest improvements can be seen in our research indicators, which demonstrate that our University, as it prepares for accreditation by the Hungarian Accreditation Committee (MAB), is not only engaged in significant R&D&I activities but is also conducting high-quality, recognized research of international significance.
