Representatives of the Central Office for Foreign Affairs, as well as the International Offices of the Faculty of Information Technology and Bionics (ITK) and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (BTK), attended the events alongside several Hungarian and international universities, with the aim of presenting the University’s academic programmes and Hungarian higher education opportunities to Kazakh and Kyrgyz high school students.
The educational fair in Kazakhstan was held in the country’s capital, Astana, at the Rixos Astana Hotel on March 14, 2026, and attracted significant interest. A total of 914 visitors attended the event, where the PPKE booth proved highly popular. Students and their families showed particular interest in Pázmány’s programmes in social sciences and information technology, and many expressed their intention to pursue higher education studies in Hungary due to personal or cultural ties.
In addition to the fair, the PPKE delegation in Astana also attended the March 15 commemoration held at the Petőfi statue, organized by the Hungarian Embassy.
The Kyrgyz educational fair was likewise held in the capital city, Bishkek, at the Novotel Hotel on March 18, 2026, and was also a successful event, with a total of 589 participants. Many visitors expressed interest in the study programmes offered by PPKE’s BTK and ITK faculties, as well as in higher education opportunities in Hungary. Hungary’s favorable geographical location and the safe and livable environment offered by Budapest were also key factors attracting participants.
The Kyrgyz fair was attended by the Hungarian Ambassador and representatives of the Embassy, and the event was also covered by local media, who conducted interviews with university representatives.
Participation in these higher education fairs can contribute to increase the number of talented students from Central Asia who wish to pursue their studies in Hungary and at PPKE.
