A Catholic summit of the Great Ten

The International Federation of Catholic Universities and the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs brought together leaders of top Catholic Universities, the secretary general of IFCU, and internationally recognized scholars of theology to discuss dialogue between religions. The summit took place in Rome with representatives present from the Catholic University of Easter Africa (Kenya), LUMSA University (Rome, Italy), Christ University (Bangalore, India), Universidad Catolica de Honduras, the Catholic University of Croatia (Zagreb), Catholic University of Lublin (Poland), the Universidad La Salle un Mexico (Mexico City), Universidad Católica de Chile, the Ukrainian Catholic University and of course the PPCU, with prof. Dr. SZUROMI Szabolcs in person.

After discussing hot topics with under-secretary of the Vatican S.Em.a R. Pietro Parolin, Cardinal Giuseppe Versaldi as prefect of the Congregation for Catholic Education and Zion Evrony, Ambassador of Israel in the Vatican, the delegation travelled to Israel to participate in an intensive programme of lectures focusing on the inter-religious dialogue. Some of the experts included Hana Bandakovsky (Jerusalem Center for Jewish-Christian Relations), Prof. Robert Aumann, Nobel prize winner in Economics in 2005 (Hebrew University, Jerusalem), Prof. Ruth Fine (Institute of Western Culture at the Hebrew University), Prof. Brorira Ashkelony (Center for the Study of Christianity), Yossi Klein Halevi (Shalom Hartman Institute), Dr. Ron Kornish (Interreligious Coordinating Council), Rabbi Adin Steinzaltz, Rabbi Shmuel Rabanovitch and S.E.R. Giuseppe Lazzarotto nuncius.
