The purpose of this exercise that the students attain and apply deep knowledge in the solution of one practical quantum-information related program and solve a relatively complex task on their own or in small groups (max 2-3 students)
One of the openly available quantum simulators will be chosen as the programming platform (such as the on from IBM / AWS) and one particular algorithm (quantum search, factorization, optimization tasks) will be implemented from scratch.
The classical counterpart of the quantum is algorithm is also implemented by the students. A detailed comparison should be made between the classical and quantum implementation.
The economical and societal impacts of a quantum algorithm should also be analyzed in a report prepared by the students.
