Among the plethora of PPCU's international partnerships, the international academic agreement with the Programme of Armenian Studies holds a special role, as it contributes dearly to the establishment and advancement of our newly-established MA programme in Armenian Studies.

Both sides have agreed to cooperate in two domains: educational and academic. Within the educational domain, the Programme of Armenian Studies will be responsible for teaching Western Armenian and Armenian literature, with a special focus on literature written in Western Armenian. The founder and director of the Programme of Armenian Studies, Dr Krikor Moskofian, will design and prepare the curriculum for both courses, and travel to Budapest to deliver the lectures. As for the academic domain, areas of cooperation include academic lectures, conferences, and exhibitions promoting Armenian cultural heritage, with other ideas to be explored in the near future.
The agreement is part of a framework of wider agreements of cooperation between four bodies: the Programme of Armenian Studies; Pázmány Péter Catholic University; Leipzig University; and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.

The Gulbenkian Foundation is generously providing five full scholarships towards this MA programme for the advancement of Armenian Studies within Eastern Europe.

Touching on the importance of the signing of the academic agreement, and the cooperation between the two institutions, the Director of the Programme of Armenian Studies, Dr Krikor Moskofian said:

"The cooperation has a huge significance and importance for the Programme of Armenian Studies for many reasons. Firstly, it is our first signed agreement with a reputable institution such as the Pázmány Péter Catholic University. We are extremely honoured and privileged to be in this position, where we will be able to have our active contribution to the establishment and shaping of a new MA degree in Armenian Studies. We take this challenge very seriously, and we will put in all of our efforts to fulfil this task. By doing so, we will be contributing in the efforts of promoting Armenian Studies in Eastern Europe."
"This agreement gives us the opportunity to expand our mission in Europe. This is in line with our decision last year to reach out to all parties Armenian and non Armenian, especially academic circles, who have a keen interest in Armenian Studies on the continent. The close cooperation in educational and academic spheres is something that will enrich our experience."
