The Rector of PPCU, Professor Szabolcs Szuromi has visited Chile and Peru between 16th and 20th of April with the goal of improving PPCU's international relations in a new region.

In Santiago de Chile, the Rector of the University of the Andes (UANDES), Dr. José Antonio Guzmán Cruzat and Prof. Szuromi has assessed possibilities for cooperation between the two universities in the fields of Pedagogy, Psychology, Philosophy, Law and Political Sciences, as well as Engineering and Computer Sciences; both in research activity and in student and teacher mobility.

At the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (UC) Dr. Guillermo Marshall Rivera Pro-Rector and Prof. Szuromi has agreed to further develop the already existing cooperation agreement to a wide-ranging partnership involving all Faculties of PPCU. The two universities consider each other as significant strategic partners in collaborations related to international education and research.

On 19th of April the Rector of PPCU has signed a cooperation agreement with Dr. Sergio Balerazo Saldana, Rector of University of Piura (UDEP). Prior and after the signing ceremony several disciplines were discussed between PPCU's representative and leaders of UDEP, during which the parties set up a framework for the realization of specific examples of research and education programs in the field of Law and Political Sciences, Archaeology, Engineering and Family Sciences.

As a conclusion of the official visit Prof. Szuromi held a Holy Mass of Thanksgiving in the presence of the leaders and teachers of UDEP at the institution's own chapel.

In Lima the Rector of PPCU has also signed a bilateral agreement fortifying the existing arrangement with Dr. Orestes Cachay Boza, Rector of National University of San Marcos (UNMSM). The Rectors' discussions on 20th of April 2018 concerned all the fields which could serve as a developing factor in the two institutions' joint professional work, including Linguistics, Social Sciences, Law and Political Sciences, and Engineering and Natural Sciences.

A similar collaboration was proposed with PPCU by the Rector of Catholic University of Trujillo, Dr. Juan José Lydon McHugh, which institution has been given its name after Pope Benedict XVI.

The Peruvian negotiations have been organized jointly with the Hungarian Embassy in Lima, in the presence of Gábor Kaleta, Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Hungary.
