The delegation of PPCU, led by Dr. SZUROMI Szabolcs DSc. has participated in a Polish conference held in the Parliament House of Warsaw.

PPCU has recently signed an agreement of strategic cooperation with the Catholic Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University. Similarly the "Laudato Si" Research Group with the aim of scientific examination of process systems and sustainability has just been established in PPCU.

In the beginning of 2014 the President of PPCU initiated the Visegrad+ network, a close-knit cooperation of research universities located in the area, and since he has been focusing on creating the foundation of institutional and substantial definition, research and education wise.

These factors and the scientific collaboration between Catholic universities in the region in particular greatly indicated the involvement of the Catholic University of Warsaw into the forward-thinking initiative of its Catholic counterpart in Budapest.

During the visitation the PPCU delegation attended the conference in the Polish Parliament, titled in the light of "Laudato Si" encyclical on the 15th of October. The opening honors were dedicated to Gerhard Ludwig MÜLLER Catholic Cardinal, prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in the presence of the Polish Catholic religious leaders and a great number of influential actors of the local scientific community.

On the same say, Dr. SZUROMI Szabolcs DSc. has held a lecture titled "Cardinal Mindszenty and the Hungarian Bishops against the Communist Dictatorship" to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Hungarian revolution of 1956. In his presentation professor SZUROMI examined the relationship and its canonical conditions between the state and church between 1944 and 1973, with emphasize on the agreement of 1950, the ecclesial actions answering to the events of 1956 and Cardinal Mindszenty himself.

During their stay the delegation has also paid a visit to Henry HOSER, a Polish prelate and the current Roman Catholic bishop of Roman Catholic Diocese of Warszawa-Praga, who is also head of the Polish Church's Bioethics Commission. Due to the valuable discussion between Henry HOSER and Dr. SZUROMI Szabolcs DSc. not only the Visegrad+ research and educational program gained new perspectives, but the Catholic’s Church bioethical standpoint and the ongoing training of PPCU has been enriched in the international symposium theme of bioethics and sustainable development.
