According to Paul Ricœur "suffering can never be silenced, she will always speak". The core of the conference was the literature and artistic symbolism relating to trauma which can be perceived as complimentary or restorative: destined to heal and fill an absence or compensation for a loss.

The two day conference was held at Sophianum (rooms 205, 206) on the 26–27th May in French.
