As PPCU students and professors are currently travelling in Armenia, the President of PPCU has made time to see them in the Armenian State Pedagogical University after Khachatur Abovyan. During his time in Armenia an official visit also took place with Catholicos Karekin II, the supreme head of the Armenian Apostolic Church, after which he signed a detailed cooperation agreement with the Armenian State Pedagogical University about establishing Armenian studies and exchange of students and teachers. He has also held a lecture titled ‘Influence of the Ancient Canonical Collections which basically maintained an existence in Armenian on the Universal Ecclesiastical Legislation’. With grand celebration, professor SZUROMI was awarded with the degree honoris causa of the Armenian State Pedagogical University in the presence of prominent members of the Yerevan higher education and the Armenian Minister of Culture.
The visit of PPCU’s students and teachers also incorporated the introduction of the exhibition catalogue composed by joint effort of the PPCU, the National Széchenyi Library and the Armenian National Library, which commemorates the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The introduction of the book was written by Dr. TÜSKE László, President of the National Széchenyi Library and Dr. SZUROMI Szabolcs DSc.
